Acoustics and calibration
The studio has a fully isolated control room and live room, both extensively soundproofed and acoustically treated. Isolation keeps outside noise out of the microphones and loud sessions contained; treatment controls reflections, decay and low-frequency behaviour. Twenty channels of clean, high-quality microphone preamps support full-band and multi-mic sessions.
The control room was calibrated in person by Richard Addis from Dolby. Every speaker was measured and aligned as part of the complete 7.1.4 system, with levels, delays, bass management and room response managed on our Audient Oria interface.
Mastering-grade monitoring
Our 7.1.4 system uses PresentDayProduction MUM-8 three-way active monitors. They compete directly with flagship monitoring from ATC and PMC.
Each sealed MUM-8 combines a Purifi eight-inch low-frequency driver, BlieSMa mid and high-frequency drivers, DSP crossovers and Hypex NCore amplification in a dense, heavily braced Valchromat cabinet.
The engineering translates into extremely low distortion, fast transient response and tightly controlled low end. EQ, compression, reverb and imaging decisions remain clear, and mixes translate reliably to headphones, cars, laptops, phones and domestic speakers.
Sound On Sound called the MUM-8’s fundamental quality and ability “remarkable”, and described the bass as having “fabulous bandwidth” with “outrageously seductive speed and detail”. Audient ORIA handles monitor control, routing and room correction across the full system.
